Atelier x Schumacher: Transforming Spaces with Bold, Uncommon Beauty

Founded in 1889, Schumacher has been “inspiring the design-obsessed” for over 135 years with innovative, bold, uncommonly beautiful textiles and pre-made home goods. They think of themselves as the ultimate resource for high-end designer fabric, wallpaper, trim, and furniture — we agree wholeheartedly with this sentiment. Although the Denver showroom has only been around for a year, we’ve had our eye on Schumacher for a while and have incorporated their beautiful creations into many of our interior design projects. Naturally, featuring the brand in our Shop Talk series was a must.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Megan, Managing Director of the Rocky Mountain region, to discuss all things Schumacher, from their rich history to upcoming collaborations. Discovering that their fabric and wallpaper have been handpicked for the White House Blue Room by Jackie Kennedy, used by Mick Jagger in his London flat, crafted into parachutes and life jackets during World War II, and featured in the new Sex and the City sets, we couldn’t resist joining the ranks — scroll below to see where Schumacher has made its mark in our interior design projects!

Powder Room Wallpaper

Project: Earthy Wash Park New Build

Moving just down the street to build their dream home, our client wanted to bring their playfulness and whimsical energy into the style of every room. The powder room was no exception. This blue and white floral patterned wallpaper from Schumacher checked all the boxes.

Living Room Throw Pillows

PROJECT: Worldy Mid-Century Retreat

Turning their townhome into a hip haven, our client craved a mix of cool vibes, mid-century flair, and worldly heirloom treasures. With a fresh palette bursting with blues and greens, we crafted a suburban sanctuary that's as cozy as it is chic and turned to Schumacher’s pillow collection to dress up the chaise lounge and sofa in the living area.

Home Office Wallpaper

project: modern gothic townhome

With an eclectic mix of textures and styles, we created an edgy, Old-World downtown Denver palace. As a professional in the healthcare industry, a motivating, badass home office was of the utmost importance. With Schumacher’s ‘Queen of Spade’ wallpaper (the same wallpaper Mick Jagger used!), we realized our client’s dream — and then some.

Banquette Seating Fabric

project: globe trotter’s bungalow

By filling every corner with character and showcasing collectables from around the world, this traveler’s home base became a global destination of its own. To enhance the custom banquette seating, we chose a stunning Schumacher fabric for the backrest that perfectly complements the home's earthy tones.

Chaise Cushion Fabric & Drapery Trim

PROJECT: SANTA FE ABODE, REVITALIZED

After completing the renovation of their Denver home, our client decided to purchase a gorgeous adobe home on the outskirts of Santa Fe, New Mexico. While the traditional style of the home was exactly what they were looking for, the home needed renovating to bring it up to modern standards. We selected the chaise cushion fabric and drapery trim from Schumacher as a complement to the South Western patterns and colors found throughout the revitalized home.
